China has been experiencing an intense heatwave for 64 days, making it the longest since records began in 1961, according to state media. Temperatures have consistently hit above 40 degrees Celsius (104°F) in the city of Chongqing in the week of August 17, 2022.

中国遭遇了史上最长的高温天气，持续了64天，这是1961年有气象记录以来时间最长的一次。重庆市在2022年8月17日这一周，气温每天都在40摄氏度以上。

Water parks have become a popular destination to spend time under the sweltering heat. The Meixin Red Wine Town amusement park even provides water mahjong, poker and chess options, while another park nearby poured over 2,000kg (4,409lbs) of ice into the pool.
